First Post

Hi everyone! By everyone.. I mean no one, but I have to write this with the lofty anticipation of one day having many followers who will read back through my blog.  Speaking of lofty goals, my hope is that this will be the place where I can share my finds, things that are in, and going into my etsy shop, and also about interesting places I go through New England.

For years I followed trends, bought my clothes at the mall and gave away my tiny paychecks to multi million dollar corporations.  As I get older, practicality and quality have become more and more important to me, but my paychecks haven't grown.  High quality vintage clothes not only satisfy my desire to own high quality pieces from reputable brands, but they also please my wallet.

As I started to build my collection I often found pieces that weren't my size, or that I loved but couldn't use.  Thus was the birth of my etsy shop Motif Number One.  Named after the iconic vista of the old red fish shack in Rockport, MA my goal is to carry timeless pieces for men and women that represent the best of New England living.  I am hoping to expand beyond clothing to also included interesting housewares, accessories and antiques of the same timeless aesthetic.
