There's two things I've noticed about blogging.
1) People are serious voyeurs. I know this is the internet and it's nothing new, but they don't really want to know what you think. They just want to see pictures of you, of your baby, of your house. They want to read the nitty gritty details of your birth story, of your engagement story, of your love story. They want to know about your breakup, why it happened, or who's that guy in the background of your instagram photo that you didn't even post on your blog.
2) Bloggers are seriously self important. They know their life is pretty, that their baby is cute and that their house is apartment therapy worthy. That meas we should all listen to what they have to say, what their opinions are and that obviously whatever they are writing is seriously compelling. But really, who reads those long rambling posts (like this one) unless they are rambling about those nitty gritty details.
This is why I have a hard time blogging. I don't have a baby, or an apartment therapy worthy house, or an deadbeat baby daddy to write about. My pictures aren't great and most of my life isn't interesting enough to photograph anyways. I hesitate to write about things I find interesting -news articles, papers I'm working on or topics from class because I know it may not be interesting to my readers.
Luckily my friend Caitlin has a baby who is cute to post pictures of, so if you want to know about my Thanksgiving you can just click
